Prepare for a spectacular night on March 8th, marking the grand reopening of OGR Torino's live music club 2024, with an unmissable showcase featuring two phenomenal acts: Amalfitano and Animaux Formidables.

Following the release of the three singles Fosforo, E...Ancora tu, and Quanto dolore ci servirà per smettere d'amare, Amalfitano will grace the Duomo stage with an exclusive national preview of his upcoming album, produced by none other than Francesco Bianconi and due out March 22. With a captivating blend of intricate melodies and soul-stirring lyrics, Amalfitano promises a mesmerizing live performance that transcends reality, transporting you into a dancing realm of pure musical ecstasy alongside Giorgio Maria Condemi, Guglielmo Senatore, and Simone Colasante.

On the evening of March 8th, the spotlight will also shine on the remarkable duo, Animaux Formidables. Emerging onto the scene in early 2022, their vision is to unleash a raw, primal instinct, embodying characters with animalistic undertones fueled by the essence of glam, blues, and rock 'n roll. Following their notable appearance on X Factor in 2023, they swiftly debuted their first record, We Are All Animals. True to their signature style, the band will rock the OGR Club stage dressed in their iconic live costumes, complete with latex cat masks, adding an element of mystery as they captivate audiences with their electrifying performance.

The artists

AMALFITANO
Gabriele Mencacci Amalfitano, born and raised between Rome and Cortina D'Ampezzo, is a graduate of philosophy and history of religions from La Sapienza University. He presents himself as a singer-songwriter with a complex and composite soul. With expertise in guitar and vocals, he is the creative force behind Joe Victor, with whom he has released two albums: Blue Call Pink Riot in 2015 and Night Mistakes in 2017.

Amalfitano is the name of his project in Italian. His writing is reminiscent of sophisticated and intelligent songwriting, playing with puns, and irony, while embracing the finest history of Italian pop music, but making rock and roll soul his life mission. It is a sincere song shouted to the moon, amidst Mediterranean parties with a punk soul, Italian summers bathed in sunlight piercing through walls, and evenings adrift in piano bars, where everything revolves around love.

In 2019 he moved to Palermo and recorded his first solo album Il Disco di Palermo, a whirlwind journey through exotic yet dreadful places (cities, terraces, bars, beaches, highways) each experienced and devoured by characters swirling within their own thoughts, immersed in a world of photographs, songs, noise, or absolute silence. This album was produced by Fabio Rizzo and Donato Di Trapani and played along with Guglielmo Senatore and Giorgio Maria Condemi. Released in 2022 under the banner of Flamingo Management and published by Sugar Music Publishing.

In 2023, he returns to the studio in Milan to craft his sophomore album, under the guidance of Ivan Rossi and Francesco Bianconi, scheduled for release on March 22, 2024.

ANIMAUX FORMIDABLES
Following seventy concerts at clubs and festivals in the past year, along with their participation in X Factor Italia 2023 as part of "Team Morgan," the garage fuzz noise duo comprising Mr. Formidable and Mrs. Formidable is back on stage with the "Glitter Tour '23-24" set to thrill audiences across Italy and Europe. Their debut album We Are All Animals (Godown Records, 2023), recorded in the studio under the expert guidance of Marco Fasolo (Jennifer Gentle), has been hailed by the press as one of the most interesting record releases on the Italian independent scene. Thanks to critical and public acclaim and recent television exposure, Animaux Formidables are about to return to their favorite place: the stage!
