William Kentridge: Procession of Reparationists

From 01 Oct 17 to 30 Dec 19

Sunday 01 October '17

Monday 30 December '19

Procession of reparationists, a public site-specific installation by the South-African artist William Kentridge, stands in the East courtyard of OGR.

The production and curatorial work has been entrusted to Castello di Rivoli – Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, an institution that has always been backed by Fondazione CRT per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. Drawning inspiration from the industrial and working class past of Officine Grandi Riparazioni, the black metal sculptures consist of a procession of highly symbolic and meaningful figures, with references to the overhaul of trains and of souls. The work is the first of a series of public commissions, conceived to be enjoyable by the whole city.
