Kraftwerk 3D – The Catalogue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
4 consecutives evenings November 4th /7th, national premiere@OGR with Club to Club.
After the Big Bang, the stage of OGR will light up again during the Turin contemporary art week, with another national exclusive: November 4th to 7th Kraftwerk, main protagonists of avant-pop music, will perform the Italian premiere of their concert/3D performance “The Catalogue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8”, in collaboration with Club to Club.
“The Catalogue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8” is a chronological journey through the artistic path of Kraftwer k from Autobahn to Tour de Force it presents their 8 masterworks in 8 concerts combining sound and images, the performances showcase more than 4 decades of musical innovation, mixing it with 3D projections.
The multimedia project Kraftwerk was founded in Dusseldorf in 1970 by Ralf Hutter and Florian Schneider, and immediately stood out for its originality and its avanguardistic approach in mixing electronic music with other disciplines (such as art and design). They have been an endless source of inspiration for a very diverse range of music genres: from electro to hip hop, from techno to synth pop.
Today the Kraftwerk are not only a band but also a ever-changing artistic project. In the last few years they came back to visual arts: “The Catalogue 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8″, a true retrospective of their work, has premiered in 2012 at Moma New York. Several performances have followed in the most prestigious venues: Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in Düsseldorf, Turbine Hall at Tate Modern in London, Akasaka Blitz in Tokyo, the Opera House in Sydney, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Burgtheater in Wien, Louis Vuitton foundation in Parisand Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. They are adding to the list the new OGR Torino.
