EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival
Torino’s New International Photography Festival

May 2 - June 2, 2024
The inaugural edition titled New Landscapes

A single lineup of events dedicated to photography created by involving the main cultural institutions and independent entities of the city in their design and production: four projects at OGR Torino

From May 2 to June 2, 2024, Torino will host the first edition of the EXPOSED Torino Foto Festival, a new international photography festival in the Piedmontese capital. Reflecting on a central theme in Italian photographic tradition, the festival explores New Landscapes - offering insights into the evolution of the photographic medium and its contemporary challenges and innovations. The festival features a diverse program of temporary exhibitions, meetings, talks, and events across Torino's leading cultural institutions.

Among the highlights are four projects at OGR Torino:

A View from Above (May 02 - June 02, 2024) - Hosted in Binario 2 of OGR Torino, this group exhibition co-produced by EXPOSED and OGR Torino takes a unique approach by adopting a vertical perspective to observe landscapes. It delves into the ways in which our perception of the environment is shaped by the photographic lens, and how this dynamic has evolved over recent decades, prompting reflection on how we interact with, design, and mold the world around us.

It unfolds within the framework of EXPOSED Expanded, this major project involving the reinterpretation of the photographic collection of the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT across three distinct chapters. These chapters will converge to form a cohesive journey across three esteemed institutional venues: Castello di Rivoli (featuring Expanded With), GAM - Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea (showcasing Expanded - I Paesaggi dell'Arte), and OGR Torino with Expanded Without.

Expanded Without (May 2 - July 31, 2024) – Located in Binario 1 of OGR Torino, this exhibition spotlights off-camera artworks, i.e., created outside the realm of traditional photography, where images are crafted without conventional photographic methods. The works presented are installations, authentic experiential fields, within which the observer becomes part of the image-making process.

SPRINT Art Book Fair Spin–Off - With the collaboration between EXPOSED and SPRINT Milano, the upcoming edition of the SPRINT art book fair, dedicated to independent publishing and artist's books, will be held in Binario 3 of OGR Torino from May 2 to 5, 2024. This event will showcase a curated selection of more than 40 local and international publishers, highlighting some of the most cutting-edge contemporary research in the field.
Always at Binario 3 (May 2 - 5, 2024) can see photographer Alien's BODYBUILDERS transmedia exhibition curated by SPRINT for EXPOSED, an in-progress mapping of the new drag and club kid scene in different geographic areas that generates an in-progress book series.

THE PHAIR (May 3 - 5, 2024), an annual photography fair now in its fifth edition, will take place in the Sala Fucine at OGR Torino this year, featuring participation from over 50 European galleries.

Promoted by the City of Torino, the Piedmont Region, the Torino Chamber of Commerce, Intesa Sanpaolo, Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT on behalf of the Fondazione CRT and organized by Fondazione per la Cultura Torino, EXPOSED is born from the desire to reaffirm the city's cultural and artistic vocation, which sees initiatives focused on creativity and innovation as drivers of development and growth, not only in tourism but also across the entire territory.
